Master Sergeant Jethro
McClintock and his A.I. Bast had fought the good fight on Protodon.
His next mission was a brief stop on his wife's planet and then some
time training the next generation of Marines on Agnosta, the Marine
and Army world in the growing reborn Federation.
However all was not well
on the planet as treachery waited for the black Neo-panther.
Navigating it the panther managed to survive and then ship out to
Antigua, capital of the Federation where an even greater danger where
his future, and quite possibly the future of the Federation was at
stake!

Chris, so far, I love it. I did notice you corrected the BX/PX from the preview snippet to BX commissary...great! Just wanted you to know, I am a happy camper so far!!!
ReplyDeleteDude, I am starting chap 17...I love this so far~~~~awesome!
ReplyDeletelol
DeletePlease don't give anyone spoilers but do post a review! Every little bit helps!
I am within shouting distance of finishing act II of Convoy. I'm hoping to get it done by the end of the week, then incorporate some of the corrections for act I.
Chris, fantastic story. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteI had a few questions and comments, but even asking or commenting would be kind of a spoiler...I am very happy...thank you
ReplyDeleteYeah I know what you mean. Now imagine it from the perspective of one of his beta readers! It is sometimes hard to craft comments that don't give away stuff when he is posting snippets. So I ration myself to twice a week checks of the blog between the start of each set of snippets and when the book is published. I remember one of the comments I made for another would be author (since deceased), was along the lines of "Darn it where is the rest of the story!!!!!!" That would be author had a habit of sending out chapter bunches. The one he had me read was a logical stopping point for that section but left me wanting, as Walter Cronkite said, "...Now for the rest of the story."
DeleteOn the book itself without giving any spoilers, the ending of the book does make one wonder what is going to happen next. Boy does it ever leave you wondering.
Duncan, I agree. It does leave you wondering. I think I will limit myself to this: to the beta Thomas===THANK YOU glad you had the terror leverage to work the advantage for the legion of fans....that comment will not make sense until you finish the story and read the author notes...the next comment...Chris you really threw a loop at me with lil Red...especially in light of your micro peek of J5 at the end of Horatio..
DeleteOh yes there were several nice curve balls in there weren't there? As for the ending I was surprised enough that I went back about 5 pages and read it again just to make sure I really read what I thought I read. That was a very unexpected curve ball.
DeleteLOL. I was happy with the ending, but I did the same thing..went back and made sure I had actually read it not wished it. There were a couple of nice suggestions or teasing of potential story arcs and short stories that could be developed. Lots of potential story plotsQ
DeleteI was very happy with the ending. I just was very surprised at it. And you are right there are several nice story plots that could happen.
DeleteROFL
DeleteYeah, Thomas was one incentive but you know me, I've got to throw some twists in.
Now don't go giving away the curve ball in Convoy Duncan! The one you know about so far should be a doozy!
Progress report: I'm in the climax of Convoy. I've got 3-5 chapters to go. I'll hopefully have it done by next weekend. (I've got a lot of interruptions coming up which are going to drive me nuts!)
Oh, Everyone, check out the wiki in a bit. Duncan's found some free time somehow (I don't know how!) and is going to try to play catch up with all the stuff I've been sending him.
Wait!!!! What??? HUH?!?!? What curve ball are you talking about? I was referring to the ones you put in J5!!! If you put in curve balls in what you sent me so far I have COMPLETELY missed them. :) I guess they were more screwy in the flight path than you thought! Now you are making me want to go back and see if I can figure out what curve balls you are talking about Chris!! SHAME ON YOU when I am this tired!!!!!!!
DeleteDid I send you act II?? (Scratching head)
DeleteYes you sent act 2 but I didn't see any curve balls in it. I thought you were saving them for act 3?
DeleteI have more stuff up on the wiki but no pictures at this time. I seem to have some kind of config issue. The various security systems I use won't let me download the pictures even though their scans say they are clean. That doesn't make sense to me but I am working to figure it out.
Chris, definitely looking forward to Convoy....I hope to see some more of Shanti and the kittens in the future. Perhaps a little of Lisami and Letenga? I would love to see the comic view of how the little kittens with their ability to stealth can be used for mischievous fun against their mom, step sisters, aunts...LOL...Anyway...I am counting the time down for convoy now! and yes, I did post an amazon review.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there is a short story in that somewhere... I think. Maybe.
DeleteI'd love to do a comic (an actual one) of the series, or heck, even the McClintock kittens. A movie would be stellar but nigh on impossible today. (I'm imagining a kitten wiggle and pounce lol)
Convoy is now in the hands of the betas. I finished my first draft and editing passes this morning.
Awesome! I look forward to convoy. I admit to being torn to actually seeing a comic ... on one hand I would love to see the stories, but I am not sure if the artwork would match my mind's eye of the characters! But yes, a wiggle pounce on lil white/or red by the McClintock kittens or playfully scaring Shanti with her ranger training and how much that is going to get Jethro in trouble for not being there for diaper duty...LOL...I could tell you some real world hilarious stories of deployed new fathers...
