Multiverse 1 Cover + Art

Okay,
I finally got the last piece of the puzzle the other day, and finished (I hope) the cover of Multiverse 1. The font color and dividers between the different scenes are still in doubt though. All the Beta's are busy with their own lives, so I got impatient and posted it here after only two people gave me feedback. :)

The cover art is made up of six different scenes, all from the book's stories. Here we go...

The top is 'Survival of the Fittest' a short story from the Bootstrap Colony universe:

Clockwise from that is an image for the Federation stories "Bringer of Fire and Light":
On the bottom right of that corner some of the bridge crew of Prometheus are shown. Captain Shelby Logan is in blue. The others are 1st LT Zeb the Veraxin in the deep background, in front of him is the TACO Conrad Murray, and the lady with curls is Chief engineer Cynthia Troll. In the foreground is the female Veraxin doctor V'brno and the calico neocat navigator Lt Silverfish.

For those of you wondering, Prometheus is in the center of the shot, with Bertha, a tanker in the upper part of the image, and two frigates as escorts on the flanks.
There are 3 stories. One each from the time periods. I'm not releasing the stories for AFTER Ghosts of the Past until it's published... >:D

Next we have the Dragon and the Unicorn, a fantasy story.

In the six o'clock position we have an image from the Metalwar 2305 universe, which will make up 40-50% of the book. I think there are 8 stories plus a ton of back material. This particular scene is from a story titled 'Ambush'. It was my second or third short story I did for Metalwar, and one of the stories that got me back into writing.

Next we have 'The Cull'. It was inspired by the New Thundercats. I had wanted to turn it into a full on novel, but I didn't have enough there to go the distance. (That and I really wasn't inspired to take it further)
I had actually intended for this to be a night shot, but it got too dark.

And last but not least, the image for 'Portal', another fantasy story:

Here they are all together:
I tried chrome, steel, and other things for the Multiverse font, but all were rejected due to legibility. I had planned on lightning bolts breaking the scenes up, but decided not to bother with them and just blended some of the scenes.

Keep an eye out for it in May or June.

In other news:
I've gotten past the 1/3rd mark with Bootstrap 2, Second Chances. But I'm hitting two walls, 1 I don't like the main character of part 2, so it's hard to get into the mindset to write. and 2, dad and the family have spring break... so I'm in no position to write much... which can be frustrating. So are the 'ho hum borreeeeeedddd' sighs I get every hour. UGH.

I'm sorely tempted to work on the cover to Second Chances just to get me into writing the next part. Or I need to go watch some dark characters, like on Walking Dead. I dunno.

I cleaned up some of the other books in the pipeline (treatments and partial manuscripts) I tweaked To Touch the Stars and doubled it's page count... but that's going to be fun to write. Fun not in a good way. :P

I have been going crazy with the DAZ3D and Renderosity sales over the past 5 weeks as you can see from the above. I also bought most of the materials for the covers of Bootstrap 2, Alive, Ghosts of the Past, To Touch the Stars, and even bits and pieces for stuff wwwaaaay in the future. (2015-2016 books)  lol. I think I'm going nutty with the sales. A lot of cool stuff though!

I still want to release Jethro 3 this month. It all depends on when Jory gets it back to me, and how long it takes for Goodlife to work their magic afterward. I'm forcasting the third or last week of the month now. I'll keep you posted.

Oh, and finally, Hemoglobin (H1ac) test came back at 5.7. The diabetic threshold is 6.4. (I looked it up) So, I'm NOT a diabetic. Well, I'll find out the 'official' news from my doctor Monday. Believe me, I can't wait, I'm so tired of pricking my fingers two or more times daily and having them sore while I try to type!

  2. Nice to know J3 is coming soon. I have been rereading both series to get ready for it and came up with a couple of questions. 1) I foreget which book it is in (I think it is either Destiny's Choice or Ghost Station) Sprite starts to mention something and Irons goes we don't break security on that even internally. Then in Plauge Planet or Pirate's Bane Irons was thinking about opening Pandora. So the question is are the two things the same thing? And if so question 2) Will we find out what the heck they are? If not then can you expand on what they are if it is not already going to be in one of the upcoming books?

    1. I could be mean but... oh what the hey. Most of your questions will be answered in Ghosts of the Past. :) Most. Many more will crop up when you finally get your hands on J3 and Multiverse 1!

    3. Okay thanks for the info. I just read so many books in a week that unless I sit and write out questions as I am going I have too many detials to really keep track of. Heck I finally found my copy of the last book in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and I was only about 30 pages in when I realized that there was too much going on that I didn't remember the details of so I had to go back and reread the entire series

  3. Nice work Chris much appreciated. Looking forward to Multiverse 1 & J3 also Boots and Ghost. It seems a lot of my favorite authors are bringing out books at same time, it won't make up for the slow periods but who am I to complain he he LOL. Just one little thing would Promethesus out mass Io or Maine. I would expect so but the Admiral doesn't live in a universe where that would be the normal.

  4. Azrael001: Most likely GP will be out near the end of the year. I can't narrow that down any further though. Yes it's 1/3rd done, but I've got 3 other books ahead of it still.
J3: I'd like it out by the end of THIS month. It depends on when I get the last bits of feedback from Jory and Thomas, and how long it takes Goodlife to convert it.

ARthur Bennett: I don't have the specs to compare the ships but I can definitely tell you Prometheus outmasses Io 11. Prometheus uses the same frame and 90% of the same hardware, but she's longer. I think 20 meters, but don't quote me. (Off the top of my head) She also has... um, well, you'll have to read more in Multiverse 1. lol
I'm not sure if she outmasses Maine, they may be the same size, but I never compared the two before. If Prometheus was stuffed to the gill with materials? Sure. lol

  5. Hmm, a small suggestion :) If you have a writers block on Bootstrap 2, perhaps try another in Wandering Engineers universe :) (Irons, Jethro, or Founding) :) :)

Yeah, that Prometheus is coming out. Will it be fully functional, or still need special hardware from Irons? Will IO be working together with Prometheus (temporarily re-activated perhaps) for a specific task I wonder...

Getting to the stage of needing to re-read Wandering Engineer while I wait now.

By the way, is Multiverse another book with short stories or?

  6. Prometheus is a mobile factory and Shipyard will it have it's own fleet to support or will it join Admiral Irons Fleet. I do think the Admiral is still looking for right system to base the Federation central Government & Navy, so I'm hoping after he's sorted out Antigua got them back on track he will lead part of his major Fleet which will include Prometheus in search of system that will meet all his requirement. I do think he has a place in mind because he had brief discussion with Commander Sprite in Pirate Bane about it and I think they were heading there before they were distracted by pirates. Fable Star System of Bek.

    1. That is entirely possible but I don't think that Irons was thinking of Bek as the new center. I took it as he was thinking of Bek because he had left a mobile shipyard there before the war, possibly hidden, so it might still be there and he could use that like he was planning to use Prometheus until he was run out of Pyrax. Perhaps Chris can give a better answer?

    2. Or we ensure Chris gets all the help he needs to finish next installment of Wandering Engineer which should really bring thing forward... Finger crossed :)

  7. Here is something I thought of for the Bootstrap. I don't know why but I think the "aliens" that sent them to the planet should be referred to as Wandering Thoughts lol.
