Enemy of my Enemy Publishing TODAY!

A funny thing happened while I was taking a break from J5 and checking my email today... it seemed Goodlifeguide.com finished up EE quick like a bunny and wow! It was in my inbox! Awesome!

So, instead of making you wait (I can imagine the reaction to that... pitchforks and torches maybe?) I decided to bite the bullet and publish it now. :)

As in... right now. I just finished uploading it. It should go live within the next 12 to 24 hours. As soon as it does I'll post a link to each site.

Newly promoted Commodore Horatio Logan had never expected to be commissioned as an officer, let alone survive to where he was now. But the Reborn Federation needed officers and engineers, needed them desperately so he'd stayed in and somehow he'd managed to thrive under the workload.
He'd seen friends come and go. He had seen his daughter off on her own command. He wasn't content in his lot in life but he wasn't a complainer either. Like Fleet Admiral Irons, he buckled down and got things done.
When the Light Cruiser Caroline returned with her payload of Bekian and Nuevo officers and delegates Horatio found himself opening up a new unexpected chapter in his life... a chapter that would forge a stronger relationship with the lost colonies with the fledgling Federation.
But Bek has it's own issues, ones no one warned them about. Navigating the sudden minefield would take a deft hand... but Horatio hadn't survived as long as he had or come as far as he had to give up or go home with his tail between his legs. He would drag the lost colonies kicking and screaming into the present even if it killed him.
... and it just might!

  4. Chris, Yay! just saw this and got it immediately... reading it now and getting my fix...although kind of boo to the person who commented before me...way to put out spoilers dude...although kind of mild, but still...not cool...we should have a week or so of non spoiler type comments ROE, so each can truly enjoy it, or at least a spoiler alert...so I am trying not to biased and enjoy this...and YOU...back to work on J5! You have addictions to feed!

  5. I am sorry, I thought I left it in vague enough terms, especially given facts the author has already released, and the way the series has progressed so far. If it is felt to be too spoilerish, I will remove my post.

  7. Kyrst: I read your deleted post. In some ways I agree, but there is a method to the madness.
Oh, FYI, I made a 3D spinner of the station on the cover. A few of the betas have seen it. If it was in more detail I'd try Marmoset and see how it looked there. I might upload it to youtube and put it on the wiki eventually.

  8. Sooo...where is my pitchfork "looks around" hmm nevermind.I just finished the book and as usually i liked it.The whole serie is up my valley to tell the truth so when i dont get my fix i get all twitchy and have to go to other authors to get my fix (Rob Buckman,Christopher Nuttall,Stephen Bennett and so on and on and on...maybe pokemon go can help out but not sure lol). However how good this book was i am acctually wondering more about the foundation of the federation....you know how hard those pricks fall after the hostile takeover of the company...how he regain what he lost. What earth will do and so on.So any idea when it might come out? :D

  9. Depressing and way too many screw ups by our "heroes" ( they don't need to be perfect, but missing obvious and important things too many times is no good).

I hate to say this, but I did not like the whole story.

There is a method to the whole madness thing. I tucked some glimmers of hope and progress in there. :)

  10. Chris, thank you! And thank you for the J5 tease...it was really a tease....really really a tease...REALLY REALLY REALLY a tease....sigh....
As usual, great job with EE...when is the next Horatio saga? Lots of moving parts in this, so it was a more complex read and I assume a more complex writing...lots of intros of new characters and fleshing out of backstories. Good misdirection a couple of times, kept the story fresh and from being predictable...lots of potential for short stories and story arcs...now, I need my next fix...and when will that be????

    1. You are so not funny.
I am a bit over half done J5. I nearly had a heart attack when we lost power last night at 4pm. Fortunately I had JUST saved and gotten out of the manuscript. We got power back this morning at 4am but I'm going to do a back up. That freaked me out.

    1. Weeeelll, you did read the little snippet of J5 in the sneak peek of EE right? You did right? Right? :)

I am 8+ chapters away from the ending, 3 chapters before the real climax starts. I've made some minor retcons in PR and Retribution along the way. Also, some of the betas have read act I and given me feedback, and Wayne has read act II and is on my rump to stop and fix some bugs. I'm trying to wrap it up before I go back and debug things.
I will say this, there is a lot of combat in J5. It sort of makes up for EE. Sort of. A lot of stuff going on, a lot of threads. I recently tied up 3 of them in a messy knot and finished them off. I'm still working on a few others.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some more suit combat to write...

    2. LOL, touche...yes, I did read that LITTLE, MICROSCOPIC teaser for J5 in EE...now I am very intrigued with what you just teased in this comment! Thank you for that (at this precise moment I am very thankful...in a few hours I am sure I will be totally frustrated and griping)...however, I do NOT want to distract you from continuing in your writing!!! You have a lot of us waiting for our next fix!!! Write on, Write on, Write on!!!!
